Within the framework of Lyon Septembre de la Photographie (9 September - 4 November 2010) devoted to the United States this year after the events of 11 September and hurricane Katrina, with the evocative title 'Us Today After… ', the Institut d’art contemporain has invited Joerg Bader, director of the Centre de la Photographie in Geneva, to design an evening of screenings centred on this theme.

VEIT STRATMANN, SHRINES

Shrines is a series of 37 photographs of concrete bathtub/niches taken by the Parisian artist. They house effigies of the Virgin Mary, the Sacré Cœur or saints and are found in private gardens that belong to a Roman Catholic French Canadian and Amerindian population in the north of New York State and in New England.

KRISTINA SOLOMOUKHA, LET’S GO VEGAS BABY

The artistic approach of Kristina Solomoukha (*Kiev, 1971) uses urban areas as a zone for reflection. She explores the nature of contemporary cities and their 'non-places', architecture, communication networks and images.

ARON GENT, THE SUZE & JENNIFER

Aron Gent (*1985, Chicago) received training as an artist from Dawoud Bey at Columbia College Chicago. Working on social relations and questions of identity, he has devoted a work to his aunt (The Suze) and another to his cousin (Jennifer).

GAURI GILL, THE AMERICANS

The Americans is a direct reference to Robert Frank's book The Americans.
Gauri Gill (*Chandigarh, 1970) took her photographs in the United States and effectively shows inhabitants of the US and Indians.
