At the suggestion of Les Amis de l’IAC and as part of their 2011-2012 programme, the series of meetings with stakeholders in contemporary art is continuing with the visit of Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, President and founder of the Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo in Turin.
A collector since the beginning of the 1990s, Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo created her foundation in 1995 (it opened in Turin in 2002). Its aims are the initiation of a broad public in the issues of contemporary art and promotion of the vast field of visual arts by means of exhibitions and numerous activities.
Interested in conceptual, social and political art, Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo assembled a collection centred on young Italian and foreign artists, and more precisely Young British Artists, art made in L. A. and female artists. Today, she also focuses on India and China with the aim of 'collecting works that capture the present and lie ahead of the future.'
