Proceeding in endurance mode, EJ Hill's installations seek to engage the public in a dialogue. The artist tests the physical and psychological limits of the human being. This leads him to explore the marginal spaces, those that are distasteful and that people seek to avoid, but which are precisely the areas, as the artist suggests, where things really happen. As a queer Black man, his body becomes the most intimate and familiar way of questioning this space and also the condition of his existence in contemporary society.
